As a successful accountant in practice, I have always been aware of the need to work “on” my business, rather than “in” my business. The issue has been that with a full in tray, it is a lot easier to get on with working “in” the business, rather than “on” it – So I decided that I had to take positive action and when Martin invited me to his Success Workshop in January this year, I jumped at the chance. Over the course of a day, Martin showed me how to prioritise effectively and make myself more productive than ever before – It has been quite hard work adapting to a thought process and way of operating, but I now feel in control of my business and have learned to delegate effectively, freeing up more of my own time to concentrate on building the business and planning for future growth. I attended one of Martin’s brilliant sessions through Business for Breakfast in February. Throughout the session Martin was focussed on making the techniques work for all involved, making sure each section provided tangible results which we could report back on. I was able to put into practice several techniques we discussed which made a significant difference to my productivity and improved my time management no end. Here at A & J Lawrence we have been working with Mike and Martin on the Advocate programme since December 2010.
